Why it matters

A platform's count of alerts says as much about which authorities test-buy online as about the platform. When France steps up online checks, every marketplace's count rises; where Italy, Czechia or Hungary act, a marketplace is almost never recorded. Their alerts name a marketplace in 0–1% of cases, while France's do in 57%. Some of that difference is what the authorities record rather than where the products were sold.
