Shein Electrical appliances recall list
29 official alerts and recalls concern electrical appliances sold on Shein: 28 from EU Safety Gate and 1 from US CPSC. The first dates from 23 January 2025, the latest from 1 October 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 25, up from 3 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are electric shock (59%), environment (28%) and burns (17%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (38%), lead in solder or components (24%) and live parts can be touched (17%). 100% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (75% of EU alerts); 11% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, cadmium and phthalates.
