Gas appliances: recall list and dangerous-product alerts
37 EU Safety Gate alerts concern gas appliances. The first dates from 14 July 2022, the latest from 3 June 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 8, up from 4 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are burns (68%), fire (46%) and asphyxiation (24%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are gas leak or carbon monoxide (43%), restricted chemical above the legal limit (24%) and too flammable (24%). 49% were for products made in China, 14% were for products made in United Kingdom and 8% were for products made in Türkiye. 49% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 8% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon, eBay and Kaufland. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (51% of EU alerts); 32% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.

Rates divide EU Safety Gate alerts by the value of extra-EU imports in the same customs codes (UN Comtrade, EU-27, converted from US dollars at the ECB annual average rate). They measure how often regulators flag products from this origin against the trade in them, not the share of products that are unsafe.
