Recreational craft: recall list and dangerous-product alerts
30 EU Safety Gate alerts concern recreational craft. The first dates from 3 March 2022, the latest from 15 April 2025. The hazards named most often are drowning (77%), chemical (20%) and injuries (10%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (20%), protective equipment does not protect (20%) and tips over or lets the user fall (13%). 27% were for products made in France, 23% were for products made in China and 7% were for products made in Finland. 40% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 0% name an online marketplace. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (43% of EU alerts); 40% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.
