Dangerous products made in Bulgaria

38 EU Safety Gate alerts concern products made in Bulgaria. The first dates from 12 February 2020, the latest from 1 July 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 2, down from 7 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are choking (32%), injuries (26%) and chemical (21%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (29%), ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (21%) and tips over or lets the user fall (16%). The products flagged most are baby carriers, walkers and high chairs (13%), baby sleeping bags, cots and nests (8%) and creams and lotions (5%). 37% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 3% name an online marketplace, most often eBay. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (71% of EU alerts); 71% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lilial (BMHCA), lead and boron.
