Dangerous products made in Czechia

150 official alerts and recalls concern products made in Czechia: 148 from EU Safety Gate and 2 from US CPSC. The first dates from 28 January 2020, the latest from 26 August 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 32, up from 20 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are chemical (49%), injuries (28%) and fire (7%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (19%), missing warnings or child-resistant closure (16%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (14%). The products flagged most are e-cigarettes and vapes (15%), creams and lotions (5%) and sunscreen (3%). 25% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 0% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (39% of EU alerts); 60% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, lilial (BMHCA) and phthalates.
