Dangerous products made in Romania

47 official alerts and recalls concern products made in Romania: 42 from EU Safety Gate and 5 from US CPSC. The first dates from 4 March 2020, the latest from 8 July 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 10, up from 7 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are injuries (53%), fire (21%) and chemical (19%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (15%), too flammable (13%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (6%). The products flagged most are shampoo, shower gel and soap (6%), lamps and led lights (2%) and e-cigarettes and vapes (2%). 24% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 5% name an online marketplace, most often eMAG. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (69% of EU alerts); 26% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, lilial (BMHCA) and phthalates.
