Dangerous products made in Ukraine

32 EU Safety Gate alerts concern products made in Ukraine. The first dates from 13 August 2020, the latest from 3 September 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 7, up from 3 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are chemical (44%), injuries (31%) and strangulation (16%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (31%), restricted chemical above the legal limit (16%) and tips over or lets the user fall (12%). The products flagged most are nail polish and gel nails (12%), sunscreen (6%) and children's clothing (6%). 19% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 3% name an online marketplace, most often Etsy. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (72% of EU alerts); 84% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lilial (BMHCA), lead and methanol.
