Alibaba Electrical appliances recall list

5 EU Safety Gate alerts concern electrical appliances sold on Alibaba. The first dates from 2 June 2022, the latest from 25 March 2025. The hazards named most often are electric shock (80%), fire (20%) and environment (20%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are live parts can be touched (60%), insufficient insulation or moisture protection (60%) and non-compliant plug or socket (20%). 60% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (60% of EU alerts); 60% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of Hungary (40%), Northern Ireland (20%) and Denmark (20%). Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include phthalates, lead and short-chain chlorinated paraffins.
