Rattles and baby toys on AliExpress: recalls and safety alerts
15 EU Safety Gate alerts concern rattles and baby toys sold on AliExpress. The first dates from 26 February 2020, the latest from 28 October 2025. In the last four complete quarters there were 1, down from 7 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are choking (87%), strangulation (13%) and damage to hearing (13%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (87%), breaks or collapses (67%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (13%). 40% were for products made in China and 40% were for products made in Lithuania. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (87% of EU alerts); 0% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.
