12 official alerts and recalls concern rattles and baby toys sold on Shein: 11 from EU Safety Gate and 1 from US CPSC. The first dates from 17 December 2024, the latest from 17 September 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 9, up from 3 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are choking (100%) and injuries (8%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (83%). 92% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (36% of EU alerts); 45% included a measure ordered by an authority.
