8 EU Safety Gate alerts concern decorative articles sold on Amazon. The first dates from 7 November 2025, the latest from 7 August 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 8, up from 0 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are choking (75%), injuries (50%) and chemical (25%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (75%), expands when swallowed (75%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (25%). 50% were for products made in China and 12% were for products made in Germany. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (75% of EU alerts); 12% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of Northern Ireland (75%), Netherlands (12%) and France (12%). Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include phthalates.
