Amazon Lighting chains recall list
9 EU Safety Gate alerts concern lighting chains sold on Amazon. The first dates from 13 March 2025, the latest from 17 August 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 8, up from 1 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are fire (78%), electric shock (67%) and electromagnetic disturbance (11%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are insufficient insulation or moisture protection (78%), overheats, melts or short-circuits (44%) and live parts can be touched (22%). 89% were for products made in China and 11% were for products made in France. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (89% of EU alerts); 22% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of France (78%), Northern Ireland (11%) and Germany (11%). Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.
