eBay Clothing and textiles recall list
8 EU Safety Gate alerts concern clothing and textiles sold on eBay. The first dates from 23 February 2022, the latest from 11 June 2026. The hazards named most often are chemical (38%), suffocation (38%) and strangulation (25%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (62%), cords or drawstrings can strangle (25%) and fingers, limbs or head can be trapped (25%). 12% were for products made in China and 12% were for products made in Bangladesh. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (62% of EU alerts); 0% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of Northern Ireland (38%), Germany (25%) and Sweden (25%). Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include phthalates, lead and short-chain chlorinated paraffins.
