Amazon Clothing and textiles recall list
59 official alerts and recalls concern clothing and textiles sold on Amazon: 29 from EU Safety Gate and 30 from US CPSC. The first dates from 20 May 2020, the latest from 16 September 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 19, up from 5 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are burns (42%), chemical (41%) and injuries (37%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (41%), too flammable (32%) and cords or drawstrings can strangle (12%). 78% were for products made in China and 3% were for products made in United States. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (62% of EU alerts); 7% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of France (38%), Sweden (28%) and Germany (21%). Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include phthalates, cadmium and PFAS / PFOA.
