Protective face masks on eBay: recalls and safety alerts
21 EU Safety Gate alerts concern protective face masks sold on eBay. The first dates from 25 August 2020, the latest from 30 April 2026. The hazards named most often are other health risk (100%) and chemical (5%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are protective equipment does not protect (95%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (5%). 76% were for products made in China, 5% were for products made in Poland and 5% were for products made in Vietnam. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (67% of EU alerts); 57% included a measure ordered by an authority.
