Soft toys and plush on Temu: recalls and safety alerts
12 EU Safety Gate alerts concern soft toys and plush sold on Temu. The first dates from 27 May 2025, the latest from 16 July 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 6, about the same as the 6 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are choking (75%) and chemical (25%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (75%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (25%). 83% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (67% of EU alerts); 8% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include chromium (VI) and phthalates.
