TikTok Shop Electrical appliances recall list
14 official alerts and recalls concern electrical appliances sold on TikTok Shop: 12 from EU Safety Gate and 2 from US CPSC. The first dates from 7 November 2024, the latest from 7 September 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 5, down from 9 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are fire (57%), electric shock (50%) and burns (14%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are overheats, melts or short-circuits (57%), live parts can be touched (29%) and non-compliant plug or socket (29%). 86% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (92% of EU alerts); 0% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.
