The hazards named most often are chemical (37%), injuries (28%) and choking (17%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (21%), small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (19%) and restricted chemical above the legal limit (16%). 77% were for products made in China, 4% were for products made in France and 3% were for products made in Germany. The products flagged most are nail polish and gel nails (20%), chargers and power adapters (7%) and soft toys and plush (5%). 38% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 28% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon, AliExpress and eBay. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (47% of EU alerts); 37% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, nickel and cadmium.
