Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (18%), non-compliant plug or socket (17%) and overheats, melts or short-circuits (13%). 68% were for products made in China, 7% were for products made in Germany and 4% were for products made in Slovenia. The products flagged most are chargers and power adapters (8%), kettles, fryers and kitchen appliances (4%) and e-scooters and e-bikes (4%). 29% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 20% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon, Shein and eBay. The most common outcome was recalled from consumers (54% of EU alerts); 46% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, phthalates and PFAS / PFOA.
