Power cord too thin or not anchored
523 official alerts and recalls concern products flagged for “power cord too thin or not anchored”: 447 from EU Safety Gate and 76 from US CPSC. The first dates from 31 January 2020, the latest from 24 September 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 119, down from 142 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are electric shock (79%), fire (40%) and burns (30%). 88% were for products made in China. 13% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 5% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon, Walmart and AliExpress. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (75% of EU alerts); 84% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead.
