76 official alerts and recalls concern alerts and recalls published in week 32 of 2026: 59 from EU Safety Gate and 17 from US CPSC. The first dates from 4 August 2026, the latest from 7 August 2026. The hazards named most often are injuries (41%), chemical (33%) and choking (20%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are restricted chemical above the legal limit (26%), small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (18%) and power cord too thin or not anchored (12%). 75% were for products made in China, 4% were for products made in Germany and 4% were for products made in Hong Kong. The products flagged most are squeeze toys and squishies (13%), fairy lights and light chains (7%) and balloons (5%). 36% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 29% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon, AliExpress and Temu. The most common outcome was withdrawn from the market (56% of EU alerts); 49% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lead, phthalates and nitrosamines.
