Swim aids and inflatables on AliExpress: recalls and safety alerts
8 EU Safety Gate alerts concern swim aids and inflatables sold on AliExpress. The first dates from 26 June 2024, the latest from 3 September 2026. The hazards named most often are drowning (88%), injuries (12%) and choking (12%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are fingers, limbs or head can be trapped (62%), tips over or lets the user fall (12%) and small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (12%). 100% were for products made in China. The most common outcome was removed from online marketplace (75% of EU alerts); 25% included a measure ordered by an authority. The EU alerts were notified most often by the authorities of Austria (50%), Germany (25%) and Spain (12%).
