Necklaces, bracelets and rings: official safety alerts report, Q3 2026

Preliminary: authorities publish some alerts weeks after their date, so these numbers may still change until 21 October 2026. After that this edition is frozen.

82 official alerts and recalls concerned necklaces, bracelets and rings in the 12 months to 30 September 2026: 78 from EU Safety Gate and 4 from US CPSC. There were 8 in Q3 2026, down from 17 in Q2 2026. In the 12 months before, there were 92.

Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reason was restricted chemical above the legal limit (89%), followed by lead in solder or components (10%) and small parts or stuffing can be swallowed (6%).

72% were made in China. 68% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online and 41% name an online marketplace, most often AliExpress (14), Amazon (10) and Shein (8).

The authorities of Sweden (17), France (14) and Norway (13) filed the most alerts. The most common measure was withdrawn from the market (29% of EU alerts); 40% were ordered by an authority rather than taken voluntarily.

Counts are official EU Safety Gate alerts and US CPSC recalls in the 12 months to the end of the quarter, by publication date. Reasons, product types and marketplaces are read from the official records as described in the methodology. An alert records an authority's action on one product; counts measure regulatory attention, not how safe a product type, brand or platform is. Methodology →
