275 EU Safety Gate alerts concerned perfume and eau de toilette in the 12 months to 30 September 2026. There were 18 in Q3 2026, down from 37 in Q2 2026. In the 12 months before, there were 870.
Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reason was ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (99%), followed by allergen not declared on the label (4%) and missing warnings or child-resistant closure (1%).
32% were made in Italy. 1% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online and 0% name an online marketplace.
The authorities of Italy (153), Czechia (70) and Hungary (20) filed the most alerts. The most common measure was sales ban (61% of EU alerts); 90% were ordered by an authority rather than taken voluntarily.
