298 EU Safety Gate alerts concern cosmetics made in Spain. The first dates from 6 May 2021, the latest from 3 June 2026. In the last four complete quarters there were 42, down from 94 in the four quarters before. The hazards named most often are chemical (97%), microbiological (1%) and other health risk (1%). Read from the official risk descriptions, the most common reasons are ingredient not allowed in cosmetics (99%), restricted chemical above the legal limit (2%) and allergen not declared on the label (2%). 7% of the EU alerts were marked as sold online, and 2% name an online marketplace, most often Amazon. The most common outcome was sales ban (68% of EU alerts); 90% included a measure ordered by an authority. Chemicals named in the official risk descriptions include lilial (BMHCA).
